UP Diliman (UPD) was the top performing school in the October 2021 Chemical Engineer Licensure Examinations, and adding to that, Al Christian R. Gobres notched the top spot with an 84 percent rating.

All 14 examinees passed the examinations, making UPD the only school who fielded 10 or more examinees to get a 100-percent passing rate.

According to the Professional Regulation Commission, 321 of 679 passed the examination given by the Board of Chemical Engineering in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, and Lucena from Oct. 3 to 5.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Gobres said the support of his entire family and relatives as well as a scholarship from the Department of Science and Technology helped him finish his education.  He encouraged other students to “keep rooted. Whenever you feel down, balikan mo iyong dahilan kung bakit ka nagpupursige in the first place.  Kahit how many times ka pa nagkamali o nadapa.”
