The UP Softball Varsity Team (UPSVT) recently completed their eight-day training camp and cultural exchange program in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan.
The 23-member delegation, headed by UP Diliman College of Human Kinetics Dean Francis Carlos B. Diaz, had a joint training and practice games with Kaohsiung softball club teams. They also visited and toured the Kaohsiung National Stadium and the Taiwan Olympic Training Center.
Held from Jan. 21 to 28, Diaz said the UPSVT’s training camp and cultural exchange activity in Taiwan was supported by the UPD Office of the Chancellor. Their hotel accommodations, local transportation, and logistical needs for the joint training were shouldered and provided by the Edu-Connect Southeast Asia Association, a civil society organization based in Kaohsiung City.
The UPSVT is set to begin their campaign for Season 86 of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines softball tournament on Feb. 24.—With a report from Diaz
