(APR. 21)—UP Diliman’s long standing tradition of honor and excellence takes center stage in Linggo ng Parangal, a week-long festivity to recognize the outstanding performance of its faculty, Research and Extension Professional Staff (REPS), students, staff and the community.

(APR. 10) — Benjie Allen D. Aquino, Alyansa ng mga Mag-aaral para sa Panlipunang Katwiran at Kaunlaran (ALYANSA) standard bearer, was elected chairperson of the UPD University Student Council (USC) defeating Student Alliance for the Advancement of Democratic Rights in UP (STAND UP) standard bearer Ben Galil R. Te in an election held on Apr. 6.
Aquino garnered a total of 4, 143 votes while Te earned 2,540 votes.
Aquino, a student from Virata School of Business (VSB), succeeds former USC chair and STAND UP member Christian Bryle Leano.

Sansinukob exhibit: Philippine myths on the universe’s origin
UP Diliman’s (UPD) celebration of the National Arts Month kicked off on Feb. 1 with the unveiling of Sansinukob, an installation art exhibit, at the UP Lagoon, UP Amphitheater and College of Mass Communication (CMC) Hill.
The exhibit featured art works created by UPD visual artists Leo Abaya, Anton del Castillo, Rita Gudiño, Gerry Leonardo, Leeroy New, Junyee and Reg Yuson depicting Philippine stories on the origin of the “sansinukob” (universe).
It was a glimpse of the ethno-astrology and ancient cosmology of Philippine cultures.

Stat prof wins SAS Philippines paper competition
UPD School of Statistics (SS) Prof. Francisco N. delos Reyes research won the grand prize in the faculty division of the SAS paper competition held during the Annual SAS Philippines Academic Analytics Conference on Feb. 9 at the One Esplanade Events Place, Pasay City.

Dr. Ronahlee A. Asuncion was formally installed as the eighth dean of the School of Labor and Industrial Relations (SOLAIR) at affirmation rites on Dec. 16 at the School’s Isabelo delos Reyes Auditirium.
