National Artists at Seremonya tomorrow

(JUNE 17) — The University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) will honor five National Artists at this year’s “Seremonya ng Pagbubukas” on June 18, 3:30pm at the University Theater through songs, dances and skits. The opening ceremony will have five segments, each segment honoring a national artist.  The event is the start of the annual week-long “Linggo ng Parangal” that honors outstanding faculty, staff, REPS, students and public service programs. Former UFS director is new CFA dean

(JUN. 3) —Prof. Mitzi Marie Aguilar-Reyes, former director of the University Food Service (UFS), is UP College of Fine Arts’ (UPCFA) new dean effective Apr. 29.  The UP Board of Regents approved Aguilar-Reyes’s appointment at its 1344th meeting on Apr. 29 and will serve as dean until Apr. 28, 2022. SLIS holds first graduate research colloquium

(MAY 30)⎯Over 20 researches from the School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS) were featured in its first student research colloquium, held on May 20 at the University Library Lobby.  The morning session consisted of undergraduate students presenting research proposals while the afternoon session was devoted to graduate-level research.  Two classes were involved. (MAY 30)–Seventy-one faculty members were named UP Scientists of various ranks under the Scientific Productivity System (SPS) in ceremonies at the School of Statistics Auditorium on May 28. The scientists were appointed for the period 2018 to 2020.
