David is Grand Prize laureate of Fukuoka Prize 2019, 1st Filipino to receive award

(MAY 30) — UP Diliman Professor Emeritus of Sociology Randolf S. David won the grand prize of this year’s Fukuoka Prize. David is the first Filipino to receive the grand prize of the Fukuoka Prize. (JUN. 28)—The University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) will graduate some 5,000 students led by 54 summa cum laude at the University’s 108th General Commencement Exercises on June 30, 7 a.m. at the University Amphitheater. UPD honors 17 in Gawad Tsanselor 2019

(JUN. 26)—UP Diliman recognized the exemplary accomplishments of thirteen individuals, three programs and one organization in the Gawad Tsanselor 2019 in ceremonies at the Institute of Biology Auditorium on Jun. 21. UPD pays tribute to 2019 student achievers

(JUN. 21)— UP Diliman (UPD) paid its student achievers tribute at the Parangal sa Mag-aaral 2019 held at the University Theater on Jun. 19. This year, UPD honored 4,302 University Scholars (US) in the undergraduate and graduate levels and students who have distinguished themselves in various fields. US are students who earned a General Weighted Average (GWA) of not lower than 1.25 in the second semester of Academic Year (AY) 2016-2017 and first semester of AY 2017-2018. New service award implemented at Retirado 2019

(JUN. 21)—Active employees with long but broken service records have something to look forward to this year with the granting of a new service award at the 25th Parangal sa Retirado at 2018 Gawad Paglilingkod held on Jun. 20 at the GT-Toyota Auditorium.  Starting this year, the Special Recognition Award will be granted to employees who have rendered at least 40 years of cumulative service but have incurred more than five total days of leave of absence without pay (LAWP).
