CMC launches Martial Law TikTok challenge
The UP Diliman (UPD) College of Mass Communication (CMC) takes to social media in its effort to counter online misinformation regarding Martial Law (ML) with a TikTok challenge in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the declaration of ML.
Tugon at Tindig: Martial Law Memorial TikTok Challenge was launched on Sept. 14, 2 p.m. via Zoom and is available on YouTube.
The contest is open to all currently enrolled undergraduate students of the UP System and currently enrolled students in Grades 11 and 12 of the UP Integrated School.

UPD offers PhD in data science
Applications for the new UPD program, PhD in data science, this first semester of AY 2022-2023, are now accepted until Aug. 22.
According to the announcement on the UPD College of Science (CS) website, data science “is a multidisciplinary approach that studies data as a vehicle of information throughout its natural cycle of production, storage, retrieval, processing and purification, analysis, and presentation including visualization, in relation to the scientific questions connected to it.”

F2F grad returns in 2022
The 111th General Commencement Exercises of UP Diliman (UPD) saw the return of face-to-face attendance after two years of virtual commencement exercises since the COVID-19 pandemic began in March 2020.
Students were allowed to attend the ceremony in person, strictly observing health and safety protocols. Only key participants and essential staff were allowed to attend with the graduates and their guests (only one guest per graduate).

Magnaye: green principles in planning education
Dina C. Magnaye, PhD, a professor at the UP Diliman School of Urban and Regional Planning (SURP), formally took her oath of office as SURP’s ninth dean on April 8 at the B.V. Cariño Multi-purpose Hall.
