Dear Members of the UP Diliman Community,
Yesterday, the World Health Organization officially declared COVID-19 a pandemic. Since my statement two days ago, the Department of Health has reported a rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in different parts of Metro Manila. Sadly, UP Diliman has not been spared by the growing epidemic. As of today, three members of our community have been identified as PUIs and are confined in nearby hospitals. Rest assured that we will inform you of the test results as soon as these are available.

UP Diliman Policies on Travels and Events in Relation to COVID-19 Situation

International
Effective immediately, all official travels of all faculty, REPS, staff and students are suspended. As such the Chancellor will not sign any authority to travel until further notice.
All personal travels are strongly discouraged. Those who opt to pursue personal travel will be allowed provided that:
A waiver is signed releasing the University from all liabilities.
The travel is not to World Health Organization (WHO) Level 2 and 3 countries (click here).
The traveler agrees to a self-quarantine for a total of 14 days upon return from travel.
The traveler applies for a Personal…

Dear Members of the UP Diliman Community,
The national government has declared the suspension of classes from March 10 to 14. We welcome this announcement. We have also suspended work as part of social distancing as recommended by DOH but all offices are maintaining a skeleton force to ensure that essential services are continued.

Traditional weaving highlights CIR 2020
(Feb. 28)— Following the successful Pagbubukas ng Linggo ng Parangal at Pag-uulat on Feb. 21 at the University Theater, the UPD international community were feted in a dinner-program through the Chancellor’s International Reception (CIR) 2020 at the Ang Bahay ng Alumni.
The venue was predominantly draped with UP colors and decked with local fabrics and textiles, apt for this year’s CIR theme “Habi,” which showcased the country’s weaving tradition from Luzon to Mindanao.
