Support Alamat UP at Shell championship
(NOV. 19) — Alamat UP’s recent regional win of the Shell Eco-marathon Pitch of the Future (https://www.makethefuture.shell/en-gb/shell-eco-marathon) has qualified UP Diliman’s (UPD) very own to compete at the Global Championship from Nov. 19 to 20 (10:30 p.m to 1:30 p.m).
UPD is encouraged to participate and support the team in the online voting which will comprise 23 percent of the final score. The voting period is from Nov. 19 (7 p.m.) until Nov. 22 (8 a.m.).

Roxas-Lim, 84
Prof. Aurora Roxas-Lim, former dean of the Asian Center (AC) of the University of the Philippines Diliman, passed away on Nov. 16. She was 84.
Described by the AC as a literature major and art historian by training, she was written extensively on Southeast Asian art, history, culture, religion and maritime societies for over six decades.

The Office of the Chancellor (OC) of UP Diliman has announced that Nov. 16 to 21, 2020 is declared as a period of recovery and at this time, all classes are suspended. All faculty members are strongly urged to not require anything to their students.

Mula sa Opisina ng Bise Tsanselor para sa Gawaing Pangkomunidad: Ngayong Sabado, Nobyembre 14, isasara ang Magsaysay Avenue portal (malapit sa Asian Center) mula 8 n.u. hanggang 12 n.t.; at ang Jacinto Avenue Portal (malapit sa Centennial Dorm) mula 2 n.h. hanggang 6 n.h. upang bigyan daan ang paghahanda para sa isasabit na mga parol.

Updated UP Diliman Post-ECQ Guidelines
UPD has updated its post-ECQ guidelines to reflect the easing of restrictions by the IATF and the Quezon City local government. They are meant to ensure the safety of UPD personnel and community as the University prepares to gradually reopen in the coming months. These guidelines will be in place until further revised.

Work (except for frontline services) and synchronous and asynchronous classes in UP Diliman remain suspended tomorrow, Nov. 12, following Memorandum Circular No. 82 (https://www.officialgazette.gov.ph/downloads/2020/11nov/20201111-MC-82-RRD.pdf) of the Office of the President of the Philippines and Memorandum No. FRN-20-058 (https://upd.edu.ph/up-diliman-releases-remote-learning-suspension-guidelines-for-storm-signals/).
This is to keep UPD constituents safe from the onslaught of typhoon Ulysses.

All work and classes in UPD are suspended

To enable UPD constituents to prepare for the impact of Typhoon Ulysses as forecasted by PAGASA, all work and classes (synchronous and asynchronous) in UPD are suspended starting 12 noon today, Nov. 11 except for those in frontline services.
Following Memorandum No. FRN-20-058, the faculty is requested to refrain from asking students to submit any class requirements.
As of 11 AM of Nov. 11, PAGASA has declared Metro Manila as part of the areas under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal #3.

Online Classes Suspended
As we prepare for Severe Tropical Storm “Ulysses,” we would like to remind everyone that, as per Memorandum No. FRN-20-058, online synchronous classes are suspended due to internet connectivity issues, as well as possible power and telecommunication service interruption caused by the typhoon.
The faculty is requested to extend leniency and flexibility (especially to students from affected areas) by postponing submission deadlines.
As of 11 PM, PAGASA has declared Metro Manila as part of the areas under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal #2.
