UPD has new Centers of Excellence

(May 12)—UP Diliman is home to three more Centers of Excellence (CoEs) in the fields of Teacher Education, Electrical and Metallurgical Engineering, according to CHED Memorandum Order No. 15, Series of 2016 (CMO 17-2016) issued on Mar. 22 and CHED Memorandum Order No. 17 Series of 2016 (CMO 17-2016) issued last Mar. 31. The CoE in Teacher Education is the mandate of the College of Education while the Electrical and Metallurgical Engineering disciplines are in the College of Engineering. (MAY 4)— Four UP College of Law (CL) graduates made it to the top 10 out of the 1,731 examinees in the Bar examination held in November 2015 at the University of Sto. Tomas. Chancellor Michael L. Tan (APR. 7)—This statement updates previous information about the Faculty Center (FC) fire of Apr. 1, as well as responds to the most frequently asked questions, mainly from affected faculty, staff and students. CAL ADVISORY (6 April 2016, 8:13 pm)

Based on the findings of the team from the Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology, air pollution levels at the CAL building are 3 to 5 times higher than normal. It is advised that people limit their prolonged stay in the building. Classes at the CAL building and FC are suspended until 8 April 2016, Friday.
