Graduates from the UP Diliman College of Home Economics (CHE) Department of Food Science and Nutrition (DFSN) dominated the November 2024 Nutritionist-Dietitians Licensure Examination (NDLE), achieving a 100% passing rate, with examinees landing in all but one of the top 10 rankings.
All 36 examinees from the DFSN passed the examination, putting UPD at the number one slot among the top-performing schools. This distinction is shared with three other institutions, including UP Los Baños.
To qualify as a top-performing school, an institution must have at least 30 examinees and achieve a minimum passing rate of 95%.
Leading the passers from UPD are Frances Dominique Agustin who ranked first with a 92.40% rating; Jesse Lauren Barotac ranking second with a 91.70% rating; Rondell Rey Cuerquis and Tiffany Zaira Garonita ranking third, both with a 91.45% rating; Saul Andrew Benabaye ranking fourth with a 91.40% rating; Mariel Keziah Mallari ranking fifth with a 91.35% rating; Niel Matthew Mahusay ranking sixth with a 91.10% rating; Tim Allen Ebron ranking seventh with a 91% rating; Aldwin Cedric De Mesa ranking eighth with a 90.95% rating; and Maria Theresa Lorenzo and Katja Sarfati ranking 10th both with a 90.80% rating.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that 843 out of 1,209 passed the examination given in the National Capital Region, Baguio, Cebu, Davao, Legazpi, Lucena, Rosales, and Zamboanga.
In a post on the DFSN Facebook page, the Department said “This remarkable achievement highlights the dedication, hard work, and excellence of our students, faculty, and the entire community. Your commitment and perseverance have truly paid off. Here’s to a bright future ahead. Lagi’t laging, para sa bayan!”
