UP law grad is Bar topnotcher
(MAY 4)— Four UP College of Law (CL) graduates made it to the top 10 out of the 1,731 examinees in the Bar examination held in November 2015 at the University of Sto. Tomas.
According to Inquirer.net, Rachel Angeli B. Miranda, who is also a Philippine Daily Inquirer scholar, topped the bar exam with a rating of 87.40 percent.

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (OVCAA) has been revitalized with the UP Board of Regents’ approval of the unit’s proposed restructuring at its 1316th Meeting on Mar. 31.
The restructuring involves institutionalizing three offices, namely the General Education Center (GEC), Office of Field Activities (OFA) and the Office of International Linkages (OIL) and “expanding the services of, restructuring and/or renaming the five current offices,” the proposal noted.

(APR. 7)—This statement updates previous information about the Faculty Center (FC) fire of Apr. 1, as well as responds to the most frequently asked questions, mainly from affected faculty, staff and students.
Cause of the fire. The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) continues to investigate the circumstances around the fire. Our previous experience is that a report can take several weeks. Meanwhile, the university itself is conducting a parallel investigation, looking mainly into compliance with several policies related to fire prevention. Based on the findings of the team from the Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology, air pollution levels at the CAL building are 3 to 5 times higher than normal. It is advised that people limit their prolonged stay in the building. Classes at the CAL building and FC are suspended until 8 April 2016, Friday.
