The UP Integrated School (UPIS) recently held Hakbang 2024, a ceremony where 101 of its students transitioned from elementary to high school, at the UPIS Gymnasium on June 21.
Organized by the UPIS Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), Hakbang 2024 featured performances from each of the sections of Batch 2030: Amethyst, Garnet, and Sapphire.
According to PTA member Joy Alinda R. Madamba, the event also prepares the students for the next stage of their journey, from children to young adults.
The highlight of the ceremony was the creation of a time capsule containing letters written by the students to their future selves. Each student was called to the stage. They dropped their sealed letter into the capsule, and were given a special commemorative pin.
The letters are expected to be returned to them after they graduate from the UPIS.
