The University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) was the top performing school of the October 2016 Board Licensure Examination for Certified Public Accountants (BLECPA) with all its 69 examinees passing the Board.
The only university with a perfect passing rate, UPD was followed by the University of Santo Tomas (90.72%), De La Salle University–Manila (88.66%), Ateneo de Zamboanga (87.14%), Bicol University–Daraga (84.93%) and Far Eastern University–Manila (82.35%). The top performing schools have 50 or more examinees and with at least 80% passing percentage.
UPD was the top performing school since 2009 and with a perfect passing rate in 2014, 2012 and 2011.
Of the UPD Virata School of Business 69 graduates, two also made it to the top 10: Fredrick Daniel D. De Guzman, 8th (92.33%) and Julie Anne A. Francisco, 2016 summa cum laude, 10th (91.83%).
Of the 14,390 examinees from 462 schools, 5,249 passed the BLECPA for a national passing rate of 36.48 percent. The examination was administered by the Board of Accountancy on Oct. 1, 2, 8 and 9 in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena and Tacloban.
