(NOV. 23) Graduates from the UP College of Engineering Institute of Civil Engineering snagged two of the top spots (including first place) and bested five other schools to become the top performing institution in the November 2017 Civil Engineering Licensure Examinations.
With a rate of 97.41 percent, 113 out of the 116 examinees from UPD passed the rigorous exams held from Nov. 11–12 nationwide. They are among the 6,075 successful examinees.
The other top-performing institutions are in order: UP Los Baños, Bohol Island State University (formerly Central Visayas State College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Technology)-Tagbilaran, University of Santo Tomas, Technological University of the Philippines Manila and the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos.
They are among the 253 schools from all over the country that fielded 12,447 examinees, less than half (48%) of whom passed the test.
Two passers were in top 10. The first placer is Nikho Lawrence Ramos Corres, who garnered a rating of 97.90 percent while Conrad Matthew Francisco Soriano placed 8th with a rating of 95.45 percent.
