UP to keep alternative work arrangement

(MAR. 29)—The UP Office of the Vice President for Administration encourages constituent universities under the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) to keep alternative working arrangements for their personnel from Mar. 29 to Apr. 4.

Malacañang on Mar. 27 placed the National Capital Region, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal under ECQ from Mar. 29 to Apr. 4.

According to Memorandum No. NGY 21-45, units or offices from the UP System, UP Diliman, UP Los Baños, UP Manila, UP Open University and UP-Philippine General Hospital may keep a minimum skeleton workforce in the exigency of service and observe alternative work arrangements like work from home (WFH).

Furthermore, the units/offices are highly encouraged to make transportation arrangements for their skeleton workforce.  Personnel must also bring their UP ID with them for proper identification.

Heads of Offices/Units and immediate supervisors shall discuss with and assign tasks to their staff’ from Mar. 29 to 31, with Mar. 31 being a Holy Wednesday only a half-day work.

The memo also stated exemption from work arrangements in offices and units in-charge of public health, safety and security, and other critical services in the campus, as necessary “Per the Omnibus Guidelines on Community Quarantine, full operational capacity is allowed in hospitals and health, emergency, and frontline services.”
