The Research Dissemination Office (RDO) of the UP Diliman (UPD) Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Development (OVCRD) has officially released Volume III, Issue No. 1 of Saliksikat, the Diliman Research Magazine.
Launched on July 17 at the UPD Asian Institute of Tourism Lounge, the magazine carried the theme Reinventing Work and Industries: From Tradition to Transformation.
Saliksikat’s latest issue featured 12 articles divided into four categories: Sikhay (zeal), Saliksik (thorough research), Sikat (popular), and Silay (to look over).
According to the RDO, Sikhay pertains to the “breakthroughs and initiatives that reflect the University’s commitment to discovery, service, and innovation.” Under this category were the articles Assembling the Future of E-Mobility in PH and How OVPRI Cultivates a Research and Innovation Ecosystem in UP.
Saliksik contains UPD’s research, creative works, and extension services. Six articles were under this category: Brewing Sustainability with Latak, Cooking Up DIY Bioplastics at Home, How Sari Sandbox Teaches AI Smart Grocery Shopping, SINAG Illuminates PH Path for Better Energy Planning, NCDRA’s Visual Approach to Disaster Risk Preparedness, and In Tiktok’s #pinoycore. Hope Goes Viral.
Sikat highlights University individuals and their achievements. Featured here were Ang Paglalakbay ni Lari Sabangan at ng Kaniyang Wika and Mayzonee Ligaray and the Fluid Strength of Women in STEM.
Meanwhile, Silay is a glimpse of “OVCRD’s initiatives for public awareness services and initiatives for the UPD research community,” explained the RDO.
Featured here were Sustaining UP’s Research Lifeline the OVCRD Way and OVCRD Journals.
The RDO stated the featured research had remarkable impact on societal progress and transformation.
At the launch, the researchers and their representatives were given the opportunity to share their experiences and personal insights on their stories, and reflections, and experiences in their research journey. journeys during the event’s fast talk segment.
Researchers featured in the past Saliksikat issues were also present at the event and were given time to share stories and importance of their studies.
