UP Diliman (UPD), and Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) has renewed its partnership to enhance existing cooperative relations between the two higher education institutions this July.

A memorandum of agreement (MOA) was signed by UPD Chancellor Edgardo Carlo L. Vistan II and PUP President Manuel M. Muhi at the UPD Office of the Chancellor, where the UPD College of Media and Communication (CMC) and PUP College of Communication (COC) are the implementing academic units.

The partnership encourages the CMC and COC faculty members and their respective departments to mutually forge coordination and cooperation for purposes of research and learning.
According to the MOA, cooperation may be through joint research; consultancy services; exchange of information, through research publications and instructional materials; participation in seminars, lectures, and academic meetings; and exchange of faculty of part-time teaching.

The MOA shall remain in force for three years subject to annual review.
At the MOA signing on July 9 Vistan commended PUP for consistently being ranked as the top university preferred by employers in the Philippines, as shown in the 2022 and 2023 surveys conducted by JobStreet and other surveys.
Muhi explained that because most their students are mostly from low to medium-income families, “they work hard to help improve the financial status of their families.”
The adoption of succeeding PUP administrators of the program From Enrollment to Employment, introduced by former PUP President Emanuel C. De Guzman in the early 2010s, also helped in giving PUP students support as they find jobs appropriate for them.
Also present during the MOA signing were CMC Dean Maria Diosa D. Labiste, COC Dean Jose Reuben Q. Alagaran II, and CMC faculty member Danilo A. Arao, who is also a special lecturer in COC since 2019.
