OVCPD held planning workshop

Through a combination of lectures, report presentations, interactive sessions, and group discussions, the UP Diliman (UPD) Office of the Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development (OVCPD) held a two-day planning workshop that aimed to develop holistic concrete plans for the OVCPD offices which will support UPD’s innovative research and education directions.

The OVCPD Strategic Operations Planning Workshop and Conference from Nov. 28 to 29 gathered the personnel from the OVCPD, UPD Office of the Campus Architect, and UPD Balay Internasyonal.

Facilitating the workshop were UP Assistant Vice President for Administration on Human Resource Development Richard S. Javier, UPD Budget Office Director Antonio M. Becoñado Jr., and Legal Counsel Percival U. Cortez of the UPD Legal Office.

Javier assisted the participants go through their strategic planning process by revisiting the OVCPD vision, mission, and values. At the same time, the workshop participants conducted SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analyses. For his part, Becoñado discussed the guidelines in preparing the annual budget and procurement plan.

Meanwhile, Cortez presented (online) the different types of contracts and other legal obligations (extension, suspension, termination, variation, billing, etc.) OVCPD may enter in.

Florendo expressed her gratitude to the UPD Office of the Chancellor, the UPD Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administration, UPD College of Social Work and Community Development, UP College of Law, UPD National Institute for Science and Mathematics Education Development, and UPD School of Economics for their assistance.
