New scholarship for CAL students

Four students from the UP Diliman (UPD) College of Arts and Letters (CAL) enrolled during the first semester of AY 2026-2027 are set to benefit from the partnership between UPD and the Kentucky Manufacturing Corporation (KMC) that establishes the KMC scholarship.

To qualify for the scholarship, potential grantees must be a regular CAL senior graduating student enrolled in any Bachelor of Arts program, must not be a recipient of any scholarship grant, must be enrolled in at least 15 units at the time of the award of the grant, parents’ annual gross income must not exceed PHP300,000, and must not have been held liable in any disciplinary action.

Scholars will receive PHP40,000 per semester provided they must have obtained an average grade of 2.0 or better for at least 15 units with no grade of 5.00, must not have been found guilty of any disciplinary action, and must not shift to another course or go on leave of absence without prior approval from the Office of Scholarships and Grants (OSG).

A memorandum of agreement cementing the partnership was signed on May 20 at the Office of the Chancellor, with UPD Chancellor Edgardo Carlo L. Vistan II representing the University and Executive Vice President Eleonor Tsumura representing KMC.
