A UP Diliman (UPD) Cesar E.A. Virata School of Business (VSB) alumnus has topped the May 2026 Certified Public Accountants Licensure Examination.
James Al A. Serondo, a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accountancy, topped the licensure examination with a 91.17% rating. According to his Facebook account, Serondo is chair of the Education and Research Committee of the UP Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants.
Serondo is one of the 53 passers from UPD who gave the University a 98.15% passing rate, making UPD the top performing school of the licensure examination.
The Professional Regulation Commission announced in its website that 3,004 of the 9,745 examinees passed the examination given by the Board of Accountancy in the National Capital Region, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga.
