It’s been said that UP Diliman (UPD) is home to some of the most diligent students in the country, and when looking at the performance of UPD College of Architecture graduate Lance Nathan Lim in the January Architect and February Master Plumber Licensure Examinations, it’s easy to agree.
Lim, who graduated magna cum laude in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in architecture, ranked in the top three in not one but two separate licensure examinations, the January 2022 Architect Licensure Examination and the February 2022 Master Plumber Licensure Examination.
Lim ranked second in the architecture exam with an 83.10 percent rating. He was joined in the top 10 by fellow UPD graduates Kathryn Alexandra Chu (4th, 81.80%), Karissa Ana Maria Reyes (5th, 81.70%), Ina Luaren Gobaco (6th, 81.60%), Camille Isabel Boncan (7th, 81.50%), and Raphael Duane Dizon (8th, 81.30%).
A month after ranking second in the architecture exam, Lim clinched the top spot in the Master Plumber Licensure Examination with an 84.90 percent rating. He was the lone UPD examinee to enter the top 10.
Because the two board exams were held within one month of each other, Lim had to study for both at the same time. In an interview with Sunstar Davao, Lim said that while the long lockdowns did give him ample time to review for both examinations, focus, right motivation, and time management were the real keys behind his feat.
