The University of the Philippines Diliman held a Welcome Program and Orientation for the new batch of international exchange students last July 31, 2017 at the National Engineering Center auditorium in UP Diliman, Quezon City.
Sixty-seven (67) students from different countries were given an overview of UP student life including the upcoming activities and support services offered by the University. For a semester or a year, the students are hosted by UP Diliman through the International Student Mobility Program (Inbound) in cooperation with partner universities.
As a first time this year, the orientation program included a jeepney tour around the campus. The tour provided the international students an impression of the lush greenery, academic spaces and some art installations in the campus.
At the Quezon Hall, the international students were welcomed by the University officials led by Chancellor Michael L. Tan, Vice-Chancellor Evangeline C. Amor (Academic Affairs) and Vice-Chancellor Jerwin F. Agpaoa (Student Affairs). In his message, Chancellor Tan encouraged the students to participate in the various campus activities as part of their academic enrichment and cultural immersion.
