This June, the Teacher Education Council (TEC) designated UP Diliman, through the College of Education (CEd), as one of 13 Teacher Education Institutions that are Teacher Education Centers of Excellence. According to a TEC Facebook post, UPD is one of five National Centers of Excellence in Teacher Education.

The Teacher Education Council, by virtue of RA 11713, designated UP Diliman (UPD) as one of the 13 distinguished Teacher Education Institutions that embody the highest standards of excellence in teacher education. As a National Center of Excellence in Teacher Education, UPD, through the College of Education, affirms its role in assuring the development of its constituents in Professional Education and in strengthening the broader teacher education landscape. It serves as a mandate to lead, inspire, and contribute to the continuous advancement of teacher education in our country.
