Over 3,000 freshmen packed the University Theater on Aug. 24 as UP Diliman (UPD) welcomed the newest batch of Iskolar ng Bayan at the Freshman Orientation Program.
Freshmen and transferees for Academic Year 2026-2027 were introduced to the various offices, on-campus facilities, and services available to them at the orientation sessions held in the morning and in the afternoon for four hours each.

Each segment consisted of a comprehensive yet entertaining audio-visual presentation followed by a panel discussion. At the panel discussion, representatives of offices introduced their services and answered questions from the audience.
Topics discussed included scholarships, student assistantship, psychosocial support, data protection, affordable food options, and campus safety.

At the theatre lobby, information booths of some UPD offices, such as the UPD Gender Office, the University Library UPD, Landbank of the Philippines, and the UPD Information Office, prepared games and activities for the freshmen.
In between the introductions were performances by performing groups Kontemporaryong Gamelan Pilipino or Kontra-GaPi, the UP Repertory Company, the UP Dance Company, and the UP Engineering Choir, who ended their performance with a lively rendition of Oooh Lala Baby by Christian Martinez.
