Fondly known as SJ by colleagues and students, San Jose was principal from 2011 to 2017. He started teaching at the UPIS in 1992 and specialized in mathematics and statistics. He was also a faculty member of educational research at the College of Education.

In addition, the UPIS post stated that San Jose was not only a cheerful colleague, he was also a true and best friend to many.

The post ended with a gratitude for his service.“Maraming salamat sa 30 taong serbisyo sa UPIS, Sir SJ. Mahal ka namin.” – With a report from Prof. Catherine Carag-Atordido, UPIS
