The UP Diliman (UPD) Department of Linguistics (DLing) invites everyone to the lecture “Tahanan: Sanctuary or Cage? Language, Identity, and the Engineering of Belonging — The Case of the Kadazandusun” on Thursday, Sept. 17, 10 a.m., at the Pilar Herrera Hall, Palma Hall, UPD.

Trixie Marjorie Tangit, PhD, lecturer at Universiti Malaysia Sabah, will deliver the lecture.

Organized by the DLing, in cooperation with the UPD Department of Anthropology, the event is the fifth installment of the “Linguistics Special Lecture Series 2026” and part of the “Linguistics Month 2026” celebration.
