UP Diliman (UPD) completed the external quality assessment of three academic programs to uphold its mandate to deliver quality education.
The external quality review visit of the Master of Science (Geography) and Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy) programs under the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy and the Bachelor of Public Administration program under the National College of Public Administration and Governance officially concluded on Oct. 2.

From Sept. 29 to Oct. 2, a six-man team of external quality reviewers (EQRs) conducted Interviews and consultations with stakeholders such as heads of the academic programs, faculty members, support staff, students, alumni, and employers; and visited the facilities related to the programs.
Chief and Lead EQR Professor Emeritus Irene Villaseñor said one of the primary objectives of activities like the external quality review is to continuously improve the quality of education being taught at UPD.

“Use these recommendations to make informed, timely decisions. Quality is in the way we plan, the way we execute, and the way we respond when things don’t go as expected.… Quality is everyone’s responsibility,” she said.
After deliberations, the EQRs presented their findings during the exit meeting on Oct. 2 at the Pilar Herrera Hall in Palma Hall, highlighting the strengths and areas for improvement based on a set of criteria set by the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance.
