UPFI exhibits artworks of UPD personnel

As a culminating activity of the UP Film Institute (UPFI) outreach program Palette & Perspective: Staff-Led Creative Workshops (Palette & Perspective), the exhibit Manggagawa: Reflections on Palette & Perspective (Manggagawa) was held at the UPFI Ishmael Bernal Gallery, UPFI Film Center.

The exhibit featured the creative outputs of more than 40 workshop participants.

Manggagawa was the final output activity of Palette & Perspective, an outreach initiative designed and led by UPFI personnel, with administrative officer Jack Manalo at the helm. Palette & Perspective, held on July 3, was a free community class where UPFI staff facilitated workshops in sketching (Dansoy Coquilla), photography (Lloyd Evangelista), visual storytelling (Brian Reyes), and paper quilling (Carina Samaniego).

“This event is designed to promote community solidarity, self-reflection, and mental wellness through art. We envisioned the exhibit as a platform for administrative and non-academic staff to creatively express their narratives and voices,” explained Icho Pascual, UPFI creative arts specialist, in his email to UPDate Online.

According to the UPFI, the exhibit’s objective was “to celebrate the creativity and personal expression of UP Diliman personnel by showcasing their works created during or inspired by the workshop.”
