The speakers are Eka Kurniawan, an author of Indonesia who wrote an advanced essay on Pramoedya Ananta Toer; Conchitina Cruz, professor from the UP Diliman (UPD) Department of English and Comparative Literature; and Max Lane, PhD, a translator of Indonesian literary works by Pramoedya Ananta Toer (The Buru Quartet) and by the poet-playwright Rendra.

The event is organized by the UPD Institute of Creative Writing, together with the UPD Center for International Studies, as part of its annual “Asian Literary Forum.”
