Sustainable design should be incorporated into every aspect of the University’s built environment to reduce its carbon footprint and preserve its natural landscape. The University shall actively use green technologies whenever possible, and shall tap the expertise of its faculty and staff toward the realization of this objective.

Specifically, the University aims to…

• evaluate the sustainability influence of its built structures in all stages of their development, from the design and cost-estimation, to occupancy and maintenance of operations, and to their eventual end-of-life
• promote the culture of sustainability through its built environment

To achieve these goals, the University shall…

• review existing policies/guidelines and adopt environmentally friendly strategies on land use, building planning and design, landscaping and campus maintenance
• integrate into building designs facilities that support a zero-waste lifestyle
