Talastasan sa Kasaysayan @ UP Diliman Arts and Culture Festival 2021
500TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CEBU PART IN THE FIRST CIRCUMNAVIGATION OF THE WORLD

7 April 2021, 2:30-4:30 pm

Bilang bahagi ng programang Talastasan sa Kasaysayan, inilulunsad ng Departamento ng Kasaysayan ang isang serye ng mga webinar bilang paggunita ika-50 taon ng Diliman Commune at sa ika-500 taon ng pagiging bahagi ng Pilipinas sa unang pag-ikot ng mundo. Tampok na aktibidad ito ng UP Diliman Arts and Culture Festival (dating UP Diliman Month) na itinataguyod taun-taon ng Office for Initiatives in Culture and the Arts (UP Diliman OICA).

Layunin ng pangatlong webinar na ito na pinamagatang “Understanding 16th-Century Visayan Society” na kinabibilangan ng mga tagapagsalitang si Dr. Rolando O. Borrinaga (UP Manila – Palo School of Health Science) at si Dr. Jose Eleazar Bersales (University of San Carlos Museum) na mabigyan ng kabuluhang pangkasaysayan at kahalagahang pangkasalukuyan ang ang pagiging bahagi ng Pilipinas sa unang pag-ikot ng mundo-nagsimula ito sa Kabisayaan na umabot hanggang sa Kamindanawan.

FORMAT AND PARTICIPATION:
This event will be held online via the National Quincentennial Commission of the Philippines (NQC) portal. The conference is free of charge and certificates will be granted to participants via the NQC portal. However, only a limited number of participants will be accommodated. This event will also be live streamed and shared on the UP Department of History, UP Diliman, UP System, and NQC Facebook pages—for which no certificates will be given but audience questions and comments will be taken and read to the speakers.
