The paper “Policy Reforms and Governance in the Philippine Health Regulatory System was awarded Best Paper at the Conference on Public Policy and Governance, held at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, India from September 4 to 6.

The paper has the following authors: Dr. Oscar P. Ferrer of the College of Social Work and Community Development; Maria Clarisa R. Sia, University Researcher at the National College of Public Administration and Governance; Dr. Cynthia R. Rosuman, of the Bureau of Health and Facilities Services and Dr. Elizabeth R. Matibag and Clarissa B. Reyes of the Department of Health.

The paper, which will be published in a book, explores and discusses the policy agenda on hospital regulatory procedures and system of licensing the hospitals during centralization, decentralization and recentralization periods of the Health Sector Agenda.—(College of Social Work and Community Development)
