Two members of the UP Varsity Swim Team distinguished themselves in the 15th ASEAN University Games (AUG) in Changmai, Thailand on December 15-23, 2010.
Kendrick Uy and Jacklyn Juinio both won medals, with Uy grabbing the gold in the 50 meter freestyle and 200 meter backstroke events, respectively.
Uy and Juinio, along with Karla Grabador were among those selected by the school and the UAAP to participate in the AUG, which gathers the best of collegiate teams from each member country for friendly competition. The Philippines ranked fifth among the 11 member countries with five gold, four silver and 24 bronze medals in 16 sport events.
The participating countries are Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Laos, Singapore, Burnei Darussalam, Timor-Leste, Myanmar and Cambodia.
