
The UP Concert Chorus (Korus) staged Pamamaalam 2010, a farewell concert prior to leaving for their 19th International Concert Tour, at the Bulwagan ng Dangal (BND), UPD Main Library Basement on March 18.
The chorale ensemble will celebrate its 50th Anniversary in November 2012.
Under the continuing leadership of artistic director/conductor, College of Music (CM) Professor Janet Sabas Aracama (center, photo 2), Korus is set to visit various states in the USA and countries in Europe like the Netherlands, Germany and Italy.
The Korus performed classics songs such as the O Magnum Mysterium, The Lord is My Shepherd and Pater Noster; Philippine traditional and popular songs such as the Maranao folk song Dayo Dayo Kupita, the Visayan fishing song Pasigin and the popular song Manila, Manila; and Broadway and pop songs like Bridge Over Troubled Water, Phantom of the Opera Medley (All I Ask of You, Masquerade), and Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.
Among the special guests were Chancellor Sergio S. Cao, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Dr. Elizabeth L. Enriquez, Office for Initiatives in Culture director Professor Ruben D.F. Defeo and CM dean Dr. Ramon G. Acoymo.
Korus also staged farewell concerts at the Tanghalang Pasigueño in Pasig City on March 19 and at the Philamlife Auditorium in U.N. Avenue, Manila on March 20.
