March 7— Theses and dissertations university publications, images and video recordings, including project/term papers of students, oral history materials, photographs, cartographic materials and journals of three universities in the Philippines namely the University of the Philippines (UP), Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) and De La Salle University (DLSU) are now accessible online.

These academic resources were converted into digital form and uploaded in their institutional repositories (IRs) or online locus for collecting, archiving and sharing the intellectual output of an institution, particularly the academic institution.

At UPD, these digital resources may be accessed by anyone in PDF file at http://uard.mainlib.upd.edu.ph. For theses and dissertations, however, Dr. Salvacion Arlante, University Librarian of UPD, said only the preliminary pages including abstracts have been uploaded in the IR.

Full texts of these IRs are only accessible in workstations of the library taking into consideration the copyright and intellectual property rights of the owners of the original works.

This was reported by Arlante in the 7th ASEAN University Network Inter-Library Online (AUNILO) meeting held on February 17 at the GT Toyota Asian Cultural Center. The meeting was hosted by the UPD University Library and attended by 26 representatives AUNILO member libraries.

The Conference gathered librarians and IT experts from AUN Member Universities to explore the best possible way for the establishment of AUN Inter-Library Online.”
