The Secretary of the University, Dr. Lourdes E. Abadingo, has issued a memorandum dated October 4regarding the passing of Regent Abraham F. Sarmiento:
“It is with sadness that we announce the passing away of Regent Abraham F. Sarmiento on 3 October 2010 in Prague, Czech Republic. He would have been 89 years old on 8 October 2010. Details of the wake will be announced later.
The President has ordered that the Philippine Flag and the UP Flag in all Constituent Universities be flown at half mast starting today until Regent Sarmiento’s interment. This is to honor the man who served his Alma Mater so well.”
