UPD grad tops Interior Design board exam

(October 29)— Five UP Diliman graduates made it to the top 10 in the recently concluded 2013 Interior Design Licensure Examination.

Marie Liel Therese Singson Gardon, a BS Interior Design (BS ID) graduate from the UP College of Home Economics, clinched the highest rank with a score of 89.95 percent.

Jhessa Marie Sedicos Orejo was a close second with 89.70 percent followed by Nadine Vera Penullar Duran (4th, 88%), Mary Joyce Co Ferrer (7th, 86.90%) and Anais Marie Perez Silvestre (10th, 84.60).

UPD is also this year's top performing school with 32 passers out of its 34 examinees, giving UPD a 94.12 percent passing rate.

According to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), only 164 passed the board exam given by the Board of Interior Design in Manila on October 1 out of the 292 examinees representing 35 schools.

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration will be on November 7 and 8.

The oathtaking ceremony’s date and venue will be announced later.
