UP Lady Tankers strike 4th UAAP crown

(October 5)—The Lady Maroon tankers dominated the UAAP Season 75 swimming competition and notched their fourth straight championship crown last October 1.

The UP Women’s Swimming Team under the guidance of Coach Noel Rivera defeated the Ateneo women’s swimming team during the finals held at the Trace Aquatic Sports Center in Los Baños, Laguna and garnered a total of 568 points and 17 gold medals.

Lady Maroon Delia Cordero also bagged the Rookie and Most Valuable Player awards after winning six gold medals.  UPIS swimmer Pricila Aquino, meanwhile, won the MVP award for the juniors division.

The team also set a new record in the 400m medley relay with a time of 4:39:97 courtesy of Whitney Dy, Tiara Tudio, Dennice Cordero and Tin Hipol. —H.C.P.
