(October 17)—The UP College of Business Administration (CBA) marked another milestone when it obtained a 100percent passing percentage in the two board examinations for Certified Public Accountants (CPA) given last May and October 2012, the only accounting school in the lists that managed to do so.
All 94 of its graduates passed the CPA examination in October and another six graduates passed the May CPA examination. This is the first time since 2000 that the CBA produced 100 CPAs.
A total of 4,772 of 9,987 accountancy graduates passed the October licensure exam, for a national passing rate of 47.78 percent.
Four CBA graduates made it to the top 10 in the October licensures: Trishia Julienne C. Simeon (2nd), Mary Anne Jelli E. Gaza (5th), Brad Neiel T. Dela Cruz (7th) and Charlton Sean D. Gaerlan II (9th). Jessica Jean G. Gandeza placed 8th during the May licensures.—UPCBA
