(November 14)—Some 60 future nutritionist-dieticians presently undergoing practicum at the University Food Service (UFS) paid a courtesy call on UPD Chancellor Caesar A. Saloma at Quezon Hall on November 14.
The students come from four universities, namely the University of Sto. Tomas, University of Sta. Isabel (Naga City), Catanduanes State University and Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
According to Lillie Rivera, Officer-in-Charge of the UFS, the students comprise the first batch of students undergoing training in the various aspects of food service management. She said the training is a requirement of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) for nutritionist-dieticians and the UFS is one of the accredited training facilities by the PRC. The 200-hour program covers topics from menu planning, baking to actual catering.
A second batch of students will undergo a similar training in December.—CAI
