UPD to establish academic link with Rutgers

(January 24)— Dr. Jimmy De la Torre (second from right), a UP alumnus and professor at the Department of Educational Psychology in Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey (TSUNJ), USA, paid a courtesy call on UPD Chancellor Caesar A. Saloma (center) on January 22 at the Office of the Chancellor.

De la Torre, accompanied by School of Statistics (SS) dean Dr. Erniel B. Barrios (rightmost), visited UPD to discuss with Saloma the academic partnership between the two academic institutions.

UPD is currently in the process of forging a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Rutgers, TSUNJ. The MOU aims to promote scholarly exchange and cooperation, in particular, collaborative researches and student and faculty exchanges between the SS at UPD and the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers.

Founded in 1766, Rutgers is the leading public research university and the largest institution for higher education in New Jersey, USA.  It is also the eighth oldest academic institution in USA.
