Akita University officials visit UPD

(February 14)—Officials of Akita University in Japan paid a courtesy call to UPD Chancellor Caesar Saloma at the Balay Tsanselor last February 5 as part of a five-year exchange student agreement with UPD.

The Akita University officials were Prof. Katsuhiko Enomoto (Vice President, International Strategy and Director of International Exchange Center), Prof. Akira Imai (Deputy Director, International Exchange Center), Dr. Yuki Moritoki (Specially-Assigned Lecturer, University Hospital) and Yasuhiro Takahashi (Director, International Affairs Division).

Accompanying Saloma were Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Ronald S. Banzon, Office of Extension Coordination Director Christine DLR. Villagonzalo, College of Science Dean José Maria P. Balmaceda and National Institute for Geological Sciences (NIGS) Director Carlo A. Arcilla.

UPD and Akita University signed an Agreement on Academic Cooperation and Memorandum of Understanding on Student Exchange signed October 24, 2012 for a five-year student exchange between the two institutions.—AKR
