(December 7)--Dr. Carmencita C. Quesada Fulgado, president of the UP Alumni Association-New York and UP Centennial Commissioner Abroad, paid UPD Chancellor Caesar A. Saloma a courtesy call on December 5 and gifted him a copy of her coffee-table book Memories… A Legacy Gift, a sequel to Memoirs of UP Alumni Abroad.

A UP Diliman alumna, Fulgado graduated AB, cum laude in 1961.

Accompanied by husband Dr. Leonardo Fulgado, she visited UP Diliman to sign a US$50,000 deed of donation to UP with UP President Alfredo E. Pascual.  The said amount is the initial net proceeds of Memories… A Legacy.

The coffee-table books are compilations of life stories and serve as fundraisers for UP scholarships.  The first book, Memoirs of a UP Alumni Abroad brought the first US$50,000 to the University Scholarship Fund.  The success of the first book brought forth the sequel Memories…A Legacy.

Present at the courtesy call to Chancellor Saloma were UPD officials namely Dr. Christine Villagonzalo, director of the Office for Extension Coordination, Dr. Carmelita Ramirez, former director of the UP Office of Alumni Relations and UPDIO Director Maureen Anne Araneta.―MDJ
