An only child, Simonh took up psychology to understand how people think and why people behave the way they do. In his spare time, he likes to read non-fiction works, play musical instruments and compose songs. With his friends, he typically engages in discussions related to current events, issues in psychology, literature, memes and internet phenomena, and currently trending topics in entertainment and Philippine culture.
As an undergraduate student, he has consistently been a University Scholar starting his freshman year, and received the UP Presidential Scholarship Grant beginning his junior year. He has presented papers on classroom management at the Second EDFD Graduate Students’ Conference (UP College of Education), and at the 2016 Stanford Undergraduate Psychology Conference. His group’s research on Filipino motivation was awarded First Prize in the 2016 Pinakamahusay na Papel Pananaliksik sa Sikolohiyang Pilipino by the Pambansang Samahan sa Sikolohiyang Pilipino. He has been accepted into the UP Department of Psychology’s graduate studies program, aspiring to become a researcher and professor in the field in the future.
